Too much screen time is one of the hazards of homeschooling. You can't blame the kids for wanting to do something that connects them to the world. Especially when there is so much "socializing" going on online now. I just don't know what the solution is. Sometimes even when kids are together they text eachother instead of talking. Perhaps we should consider screen time play time. Electronics are just toys.

I don't want to defend all those terrible and violent games that a lot of kids play but computers are the future. These kids who spend hours and hours each day on the computer are probably learning a lot of skills that they are going to need for their future. I understand the frustrations and worries of adults but we just have to come to terms with kids and computers.

I think you shouldn't worry so much about things you don't have much control over !!! Like you say, the more you obsess the more you lose the war !!!!

I agree that you should let the kid figure it out. Technology is a fact of life for the new generation of kids and they must learn it. But you should not neglect putting filters on their computers!!!
